Next generation product UX
Tools are designed to last a long time. When the next generation AirCheck Wireless Tester was created, in addition to an update in the technology there was a need to provide users with a higher definition display to show more information. A goal was to keep the product similar in size. We did this by removing the physical buttons and a touch display was used to navigate the user interface.
The challenge was to keep the workflow from the original tool while updating how the user could interact with the information. The larger display allowed for detailed information. Another strategic goal was to eventually move towards an Android based platform, with this in mind we designed the UX to be similar to mobile phones.
Easy to Understand Infographics
Wireless technicians need an easy method for seeing how many devices are connected to each frequency band and channel. We created a way to visually indicate this information through bar combining bar graphics to show signal strength and icons representing connected devices.
The user could then select a specific channel to view more detailed information.
